Laying the Foundation for a Creative Life & Business

Laying the Foundation for a Creative Life & Business

My shop has been open for a while now, but in the last few months I haven’t been giving it the attention I would have liked. Not because I haven’t been creating, but because so much of what I’ve made has stayed behind the scenes — sketchbooks filled, watercolor pieces finished, ideas brought to life, and then quietly set aside instead of shared.

This year, I’m approaching things differently. I’m focusing on building a foundation — something steady and intentional that supports both my creativity and my goals. Instead of waiting for the perfect collection or the right moment, I’m prioritizing actually adding the work I’ve already created and letting it exist outside of my studio.

For me, that looks like showing up with more consistency, adding new pieces regularly, and letting go of the pressure for everything to feel perfectly cohesive. It’s not about doing more — it’s about following through, creating a system that allows my work to be seen and my shop to grow alongside me.

This is the year I stop holding things back and start building something that lasts.

Stay wild,

💛 Sophia
